Canvas was created to serve the ever-changing needs of the modern driver. We are looking for a Software Engineer to help build out our car subscription platform. You sweat the details and care deeply about everything from code quality, and backend application performance down to the end-user experience. As a Software Engineer, you will play an integral role in helping us execute upon our mission of redefining car ownership.

You'll Work On...

*Conceptualizing new features with engineers, product managers, and designers

*Collaborating with engineers, both on the frontend and backend, when making architectural decisions

*Learning about new web technologies and discuss (and implement) potential solutions to problems

*Leaving the code in a better state than you found it

*Mentoring other engineers by participating in code reviews

*Triaging bugs and troubleshoot production issues

You Have...

*A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience 

*Done this before. You’ve got 5+ years of experience writing backend code (Ruby, Python, Java, etc.), but you don’t mind jumping into JavaScript when necessary 

*A comfortability working with RESTful APIs 

*Solid experience building software on top of relational databases such as Postgres 

*A comfortability writing client-side and server-side tests (automated QA) 

*A comfortability working with Bash, Vagrant, Docker, SQL, and other developer tools and technologies 

*You are a strong communicator, have a positive attitude, and show empathy 

*The desire to work effectively as part of a team 

*A willingness to work independently, alongside a team, and/or potentially lead a team- depending on business needs
