ABOUT THE ROLE

Goal: Build a small and agile DevOps team that will look to support the entire engineering organization. Strengthen and continue to evolve the organization’s culture of DevOps.

Design and develop high priority, scalable tools and applications. Introduce Live Production best prGoal:

WHO

-A DevOps professional that shows empathy to fellow engineers on a daily basis. Someone who understands automation and practices and tools across Swoop systems.

-Automation expert across CI/CD and cloud infrastructure management across all environments.

-Work closely with Development and QA teams to help ensure end-to-end quality.

-Build monitoring and alerting infrastructure to support operations and system health.

-Deploy, manage, and support our environments, including troubleshooting of incidents.

-Ensure all systems are high availability at high scale.

-Learn new technologies, architect, and implement new solutions to automate infrastructure.

-Own and lead safe migrations with minimal downtime.

EXPERIENCE

-5+ years of experience in software development.

-5+ yrs professional hands on experience managing production environments in AWS / Heroku for high availability.

-Strong experience in public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Google, Azure).

-Strong knowledge of a scripting language such as Ruby, Python, PHP, shell, etc.

-Production experience with network and server diagnostic monitoring tools is required.

-3 years of experience with containerization using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a major plus.

-3 Years of experience with logging and reporting systems (Splunk, Datadog, New Relic, etc).

-Experience with the administration of Redis/ElasticSearch/Postgres.

-A strong desire to learn, teach, document and practice new skills is a must.

-Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, OpenVPN etc.).

-B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent required
